2nd XI captain appointed

Again I am very pleased to report ELGAR PARK CC has re-appointed SIMON EVANS as captain of the second XI for season 2009/10. Simon's progress and improvement during last season was exactly what the club needed last season and we look forward to the second XI continuing to improve under Simon's leadership.

1st XI captain appointed

I am pleased to announce CHRIS LANGLEY has been re-appointed by the committee as ELGAR PARK CC's 1st XI captain for 2009/10. I trust he will strive to build the clubs success and improvement over the next season. He has been a great leader of the past 2 seasons and I hope everyone will continue to get behind him and strive to improve and be the best you can be. It is clear the first XI will be aiming for a top 4 finish in the upcoming season, so when pre season starts lets all get behind Chris and reach this target.

Box Hill North Football Club

Elgar Park Cricket Club has a close relationship with the Box Hill North FC as a result quite a few players can be found wearing the BHN jumper during the winter months. If your free on a Saturday afternoon why not come down and support the team and see how our cricketers fair with the boots on.

Selection of 2009/10 Captains.

The process of naming next seasons Captains is underway. If you wish to register your interest for such a role please contact Jason Irish before MAY 10. (CONTACT details) The process is opened to everyone so if you think you can take on this responsibility please enquire.

By the end of MAY we will name at least the club's first XI captain, with the other captain's most likely to be named during the pre season, unless the committee feels it appropriate to name them earlier. Nominations for your thoughts as to who should be approached are most welcomed as well.

REMEMBER to keep trying to get a friend, work mate, family whoever down for a run during the pre season, who knows they just may enjoy our club and join.
