Elgar Park Sports Club

The Elgar Park Sports Club is an alliance between the Box Hill North Football Club and Elgar Park Cricket Club and was founded in August, 2005.

The ambition of the club is to unify and form a year round club which can work together to improve liaising with council, improve playing conditions, improve general facilities and promote the enjoyment of competition to all members.

Further clubs may be invited to join the Elgar Park Sports Club upon approval from both parties.

In the first season of cricket under the Elgar Park Sports Club banner over 20 footballers took to the field to don the whites in the inaugral one day season of the Allstars. An extraordinary journey was travelled culminating in a thrilling grand final to unluckily go down by 3 runs. A huge effort and full plaudits to those guys that took the field under the astute leadership of Armie.

Characters that were prominent along the journey included Kotsa and the Gilligan promo hatwear, Tri the destroyer, Simon the slayer, Sideshow, Buddha, Al Olson, Big G, Aff, Dan, Mick, PC, Mad Dog, Gav, Stiffler and a cast of thousands.

In the winter months Elgar Park cricketers such as Jason Irish, Anthony Blake and David Moran could be seen down at Box Hill North games on a weekly basis, with a successful season ending with Box Hill North making their first ever VAFA finals series since joining in 2002.

We hope in the future the union between both clubs will continue to prosper and both clubs enjoy further success.
